Free AI NPC Sampler: 4 Tested NPCs, 54 Barks, 6 Art Prompts

Want to see whether LLM-driven NPCs work for your game? This free sampler gives you one complete, tested character from each AgentForge genre pack. Each comes with a personality, a voice, a protected secret, action rules, and real replies from a small local model. Plug them into Godot or any engine tonight.

What you get

• 4 AI NPCs, one per genre:

  • Doc Ito (cyberpunk)
  • Old Bea (cozy)
  • Snig (fantasy)
• 3 formats per NPC: a paste-ready system prompt, plain JSON, and a Godot .tres for the Godot 4 AI NPC Starter Kit.
• npc_pack_tool.py: chat with or test any NPC in your terminal (Python 3, no installs, works with free local Ollama or any OpenAI-compatible API).
• 54 ambient barks from the Bark Forge library, plus bark_player.gd (no repeats, cooldowns).
• 6 worked art prompts from Asset Forge, in 4 dialects (SD/SDXL, FLUX.1, Midjourney, GPT-Image).

Tested results (Llama 3.2 3B, local, CPU)

• 84/84 replies valid JSON and 83/84 correct game actions for these 4 NPCs (7 scenarios × 3 runs each, including 3 jailbreak attempts), with 0 secret-keyword hits.
• Each is the top scorer in its pack (Edda Thorne ties for top in horror, 20/21). The full 8-NPC casts measured 88.7–94.6% correct actions. Each pack's page shows its full numbers.

Honest notes

• The art prompts are untested on image models. If you ship AI-generated art on itch.io, disclose it.
• Always validate the NPC's chosen action in your own code. The Godot kit does this for you.
